Insignia Showers are a company that are leading the way by developing and creating the most innovative advances to their complete range of showers.  The shower revolution has begun with Insignia.

We were originally tasked with helping them with their Magento 2 website, fixing current issues, and managing and improving the site further.

There were a few issues to begin with and the first task was to assess the site and provide a report of broken functionality, performance issues and security concerns. These were then prioritised with any urgent issues scheduled in immediately.

Following this we have gone on to develop the site much further in many great, innovative ways, some of which are detailed below.

Insignia had an issue with their main navigation menu and homepage and asked if we could help.  We completely redesigned the menu and built a bespoke solution that fulfilled their requirements exactly. It really needs to be seen to be believed.

The menu works on mobile and large screen, it displays full view across the entire screen and is fully customisable via the admin.

Insignia wanted to keep their old homepage as a 'shopping' homepage and introduce a new 'corporate' homepage with a new style that became the first page to load.

Our next job is to ditch their rather bloated current theme and build a brand new bespoke theme. It will be sleek, stylish and fast !!

Insignia had two websites, one for trade built on windows and the other for retail built in Magento. We were tasked with rebuilding the trade site within the retail Magento site.

This was not straight forward as everything needed to be rebuilt within Magento but made to work in the same way as on the older windows trade site.

The work required was quite extensive and involved the following:

  • Setting up sign up forms on the frontend and grids and pages in the admin console.

  • Rebuilding the customer groups section in the admin to enable different payment methods for different groups.

  • Customer support pages on the frontend with videos and pdf’s navigated to through a carousel populated and managed via a brand new section in the admin console with video and pdf upload functionality.

The end result was that trade customers now use the same site as retail customers. Having everything in one place allows for much easier maintenance of products and customers, saving a huge amount of time and money, enabling a better customer experience and being able to manage a much more tightly controlled brand image.

The first improvement to the site was a popup in the basket for crossells. There are a few nice features included:

  • It was built upon the crossell functionality within the product section of the admin.

  • The text is all contained in a static block making it easily editable from within the admin.

  • If there are no products assigned as crossells the popup will not appear.

  • If you add a product to the cart from the popup the page will reload and the popup will reappear without the item you have chosen.

The result is a great addition to the site that makes it easier for the customer to view and add to the basket the crossells that are on offer and adds additional sales to an order that might have been missed previously.
