MAGENTO 1 GDPR CONSENT EXTENSION
Ecomus GDPR Consent Extension for Magento 1 manages the consent required for compliance with GDPR

THE CHECKOUT
The checkout is where your privacy settings are going to get the most customer interaction.
This section places all of the options in-front of your customer, once they have given their consent for a particular opt-in then it is hidden from the checkout on subsequent visits.

All your customers privacy options in one section.
Website & Age Consent
These are required fields.
You can assume consent for these however the options are available if you want them.
Clear Opt-In's
These sections require an opt-in.
Very clear and easy to understand.
Hidden Options
Once a selection is made, it is hidden from the checkout for the future. Setting is still available in the new Privacy section.
Link to new Privacy section
This is a permanent link to the new Privacy section. All the other ticks and text are hidden once each has been selected.
There is also a section added to the Create New Account page as well as a brand new Privacy Settings section where your customer's can manage all their privacy settings.
Consent is not the only lawful basis for using your customers data but the ICO do want clarity. To achieve this we have built this extension to gain consent, make a record of when that consent is given and to offer a clear section for all your customer's privacy settings that is easy for them to find, view and edit.

We can also link our Consent Extension with other extensions eg. Mailchimp - to ensure only the details of customers who have selected to opt-in to newsletter emails have their details passed over to Mailchimp .

By Default this extension will:

Appear in the checkout and the create new account page and will be tick boxes for the website, catalogue, newsletter & 3rd party mailings (depending on which you have). The website will be a 'required' tick to continue, the rest are not.
We could assume consent for the website but are choosing to put in a required tick as we want customers to tick the other options and we think that having to tick one might encourage them to tick the others.
- This setup can be changed based on how you want to present to your customers the options of consent.

These will then be date stamped and this information held in Magento. For existing customers we will date stamp their current preferences. Whenever they change their preferences this will be date stamped so that you have a record of their opt in/out preferences and they date they made/changed them.

There will be a Privacy page in the My Account section where the customer can change their opt-in/out options and also their cookie options. This page will also contain other data privacy information including the right to data portability and the right view their data and delete their data.

Please note: This extension has been built to run on a standard installation of Magento with no third party extensions or services attached. Should you have a third party checkout then extra work may be required to get it to display correctly. If you have third party extensions / services to manage your newsletters, catalogues or third party mailings then extra work may be required to plug into these.
